In the last week of October, a young man looking for a job in Mumbai suddenly took a double decker bus under his control by the force of a revolver. He positioned himself on the top deck and held many people of the bus hostage. He shot a man in the thigh, injuring him, and tried to strangle the bus conductor. He fired several times from his revolver. The police gave him warnings and ultimatums, finally had to shoot him dead. The police had entered the top deck via the small stairwell.
My only thoughts besides the title; pray tell what the police should have done alternatively, risking minimal human lives and using prudence.
The paragraph again:
In the last week of October, a young man from Bihar looking for a job in Mumbai suddenly took a double decker bus under his control by the force of a revolver. He positioned himself on the top deck and held many people of the bus hostage. He said he wanted to kill Raj Thackray. He shot a man in the thigh, injuring him, and tried to strangle the bus conductor. He fired several times from his revolver. The police gave him warnings and ultimatums, finally had to shoot him dead. The police had entered the top deck via the small stairwell.
And the Mumbai police was condemned by people and media for the 'heinous' act.
